Milan Fashion Week: in the streets

Fashion Desginer Ichiopachita and fashion photographer Coral Castillo Mar hit the streets to show us what people were wearing to Milan Fashion Week SS17. Come along for the ride!

Thanks to autumn’s arrival, we got to catch the welcoming of fur, sweaters, light wool, big bomber jackets and heavy denim – always layered with transparencies, mesh, tulle, chiffon, cotton and satin. We saw plenty of nice, sexy glam mix & match, and see-through outfits at Milan Fashion Week.

Denim is still the “it” item of the season. Shirts, jackets and trousers all added a casual touch to goers, such as bloggers, buyers, influencers, editors, celebrities and, of course, designers. These pieces were upgraded with a statement pair of shoes and designer bags, a nice metallic biker jacket, velvet dresses, embroideries, ruffles, textures, psychedelic prints, etc…

With how hectic the world and our own lives have become, everyone seemed to go for the comfy chic, sporty, kinda effortless look.

The old-school pair of sneakers was very appreciated, as well as laidback pants – which reminded us of the early 90’s era.

Editor’s note: The traditional, super high-profile Milan Fashion Week first took place in 1958. It’s a huge tourist draw for the northern Italian city. Milan has for long now been synonymous with fashion.

The event is one of the “big four” international fashion weeks held each year. The others are in Paris, London and New York. As you probably knew or guessed, they get to play a central role in both creating and showcasing the fashion trends we get to lust after, spread across the red carpets of the celebrity sphere.

These photos make the trends look accessible – pieces we are able to find in our own wardrobes, perhaps. (But then again, they are not from the runway.) Now all we have to do is spruce our jeans up a bit, and we can feel like we’re “it” people, too! (Lenka was right.)
