3-27 Sept Carried by the Wind- Lasse Antonsen at KKW

Danish come American artist Lasse Antonsen has installed huge plastic balloons at KKW. But why?

The project “Carried by the Wind” is inspired by the Cold War propaganda initiative where printed material was attached to balloons, launched from West Germany, and dispersed over Communist Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. It lasted from 1951-56, and more than 500,000 balloons carried more than 300,000,000 leaflets and books.

What is Lasse’s propaganda? Come find out.

opening 18.00 Thur

On Sat there will be a discussion between Lasse Antonsen, German art historian Constanze Fritzsch who resides in Paris, and Polish art historian Karol Jozwiek from Warsaw focusing on Utopian visions, propaganda and art.
