Leipzig Events: Helping save the beloved Kohlgarten Cafe this Saturday

A group of 30 people have all pitched in to save the Kohlgarten Cafe (Kohlgartenstr. 51), now called HELMUT!. They plan to organise various activities, including film nights, specialty lunches, exhibitions and parties. They are throwing a soli party Saturday around 11:30 p.m. at Feinkost (Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 36). Bring your dancing shoes and donations.

Peter Höhne: childhood dreams and adult realities

I was excited and intrigued. No space was left untouched. Next to me a limited edition black powder-coated wrench set hung from horseshoe nails. Various knifes were stuck in the wall in a row as though a knife thrower had been there. The radiators were encased in forged metal. The metal door frame into the bathroom was red glitter auto paint. Even the kitchen cabinet handles were wrenches and studded with red rhinestones. WOW! I was pretty much spellbound.

Ch Ch Ch Changes

My first piece for Leipzig Zeitgeist (LZ) about Leipzig Ballet was when Mario Schröder first appeared on the scene. It felt right. I was new. The company as we now know it was new. I went to my first after party that night. I mainly watched, but I did meet some people that would enrich my life. I must say it’s a far cry from my current after party shenanigans. How many years has it been? Five! It feels like yesterday and yet, like a lifetime.
