What role did new social, political, and ecological movements, as well as regional and international organisations play in this? How were literature, the visual and performing arts deployed as salient battlefields in the global Cold War? And which changes are difficult to explain from a European point of view or are not a direct outcome of the end of the conflict? Find out how these questions can possibly be answered at the fourth WeberWordCafé “Globalisation during the Cold War: Culture, New Geopolitics and Che Guevara” taking place November from 4:30 to 8 pm at Literaturcafé im Haus des Buches Leipzig!” (from http://wwc.hypotheses.org)

The exhibition traces the transitions between normality and a state of emergency, security and threat, sleep and restlessness, energy and exhaustion. As part of The School of Kyiv – Kyiv Biennale 2015 outlines the “Class Leipzig”, it focuses on expressions of a critical public the accompanying invitation to further discussion of the intertwining of politics and aesthetics. Naturally many of the works examine the recent military action in the Ukraine. It’s well worth seeing what people from that area are thinking.
