In the first installment of its “Trash Movie Series,” Uptown Coffee Bar is delighted to give you a chance to spend your Friday evening sharing drinks and a mixture of laughter and fits of cringing with kindred moviegoing spirits in a cozy coffeeshop atmosphere. And it’s for free.
The premiere features the 1959 movie Plan 9 from Outer Space, as the supposed pinnacle of cinematic trash. An IMDB review describes said movie as follows: “Often considered the worst movie of all time, Plan 9 From Outer Space does boast tombstones that are made of cardboard and tip over during the movie, it does feature one shot of Bella Legosi that is reused over and over and over, it does show a cop scratching an itch on his head with his gun, and stars a Swedish wrestler as a California cop, but it is not the worst movie of all time because the story is not that awful.”
