Queer Film Week

Blue is the Warmest Color
“Blue is the Warmest Color” – movie poster, Wikipedia.

The gay rights movement marches on strongly in the world, securing historic victories. Big cinematic productions are coming out, one after the other, as a reflection of the theme’s entrance into the mainstream, as Player:Web points out: Carol, The Duke of Burgundy, Sand Dollars, The Danish Girl, and others, all having been shown or about to be shown in Leipzig. Simultaneously, counter-movements in countries such as Russia try to set us backwards with a big dose of violence, hatred and ignorance. This movie week in Leipzig, from January 7th-13th, you can catch many facets of queer life in the 6th edition of the festival Queere Filmwoche – Queer Film Week – watching films from all over the world, including Carol and The Danish Girl, at Kinobar Prager Frühling, and some related events and movies at UT Connewitz as well. Some are being presented in conjunction with the 10th Porn Festival, at both venues. We give you the schedule here for movies being shown at Kinobar Prager Frühling for the fest and indicate which ones are in the original foreign language with subtitles – OmU for German subtitles, OmeU for English:
