Ana’s tips:

14th January ► Schnippeldisko

“For the purposes of culinary disobedience, it will be snipped, trimmed, diced, stirred, flavored, wobbled and swung (wooden spoon and dancing). We would like to draw attention to the topic of food waste, as motivation for the great demonstration against the agro-industry that will take place in Berlin on 16.01. Bring a knife and if necessary an apron and dancing shoes. We ask for a donation for the venue. There will be a home-like atmosphere, boards, music to dance to.” – From event page. At the new Café HomeLE, Georg-Schuhmann-Str. 130, 19-23h. More info <3

14th January ► Slawische Lesebühne im Poniatowski

The regular “Slavic reading stage” event at Leipzig’s only Polish restaurant, bar and performance hub offers Slavic cultural, multilingual entertainment and exchanges. Starts at 20h. At Poniatowski, Kreuzstr. 15. More info <3

15th January ► Social Center 4 All and Squatting Reloaded

“The idea is simple and good: If people are forced to sleep on the streets and there are empty houses beside, we need to squat them. If refugees *are objectified* by a racist system, we need to create spaces, where self-organization is possible. We want a center, where people talk about politics, so that all the small projects can create a bigger idea – against the system of capitalist individuality, against racist laws, against hartz 4, against fascism, against gentrification. We want to talk about the idea and the way to a #socialcenter4all. Therefore we invited activists from Lübeck, Göttingen and Frankfurt to share experiences. We invite you to a public discussion. There is possibility for translation into English and Arabic.” – From event page. At 19h at Westwerk, follow the signs to the gym,  Karl-Heine-Str. 93. More info <3

15th January ► Book Release Party – Juleika Lippenrot

After traveling and seeing a lot, meeting great people and writing about it, Juleika Lippenrot goes back to the place where public reading fun started for her to launch her short story collection. There will be a reading, live music, short film and drinks, too. Starts at 19h, at Helmut, Kohlgartenstr. 51. More info <3
