As described in the About Us page, LeipGlo.com has changed the way it publishes. It has now become a solo-run publisher of books whose website runs blog posts from time to time. Although not yet accepting book pitches from external contributors, it occasionally accepts articles under the following categories:
- Book reviews
- Music reviews
- Poems
- Short stories
- Book excerpts (fiction or non-fiction)
Please note: No monetary compensation or free event tickets can be offered for articles at the moment.
A few guidelines for potential writers
1. Send LeipGlo your article idea first
It’s important to hear about you and what sort of article you’d like LeipGlo.com to publish before receiving the actual article. Please send a short pitch via the form at the end of this page, or to Ana Ribeiro at ana@leipglo.com.
2. Keep your story crisp and in .doc format
Once you get the go-ahead to submit your article, please do so in .doc or similar (PC- and copy-and-paste friendly). Lengthwise, you should keep it, ideally, between 300 and a maximum of 2,000 words. We allow some exceptions, but there should be a really good reason for it.
3. Include hyperlinks, photos, and bio when possible
Whenever you cite something you didn’t come up with yourself, please make the relevant word or phrase in the text into a hyperlink. Also include hyperlinks to concepts, places, names, etc. you think are worth reading further into. This saves the editor a lot of time and makes sure the links you want can be included (though we do reserve the right to change them).
We also appreciate any high resolution pics you could include, as long as they have the appropriate credit or attribution (meaning you, a consenting photographer, or public domain/commons). For first-time contributors, LeipGlo.com asks for a mini-bio about the author – 3-4 lines preferably in the third person.
4. Know that you may be edited
Although the editor strives, as much as possible, to keep the voice of the writer intact, certain standards in terms of grammar, syntax, and layout formatting must be adhered to for reviews. Poems, short stories, and book excerpts will not be edited for language, though the latter may be shortened for length purposes. By submitting your article, you agree to a collaboration with the editor.
5. Be patient with replies and publishing
LeipGlo.com is no longer publishing time-sensitive pieces. The editor will reply to you as time allows.
