If you’re in town this week, here’s an opportunity to meet some Leipzig writers and be immersed in a creative atmosphere while possibly drinking some Polish vodka or cocktail, and/or eating pierogi and such (more on the venue, Poniatowski, in a future post… I have a little personal story to tell about the place and its lovely owner).
I will let organizer Stewart Tunnicliff – from the aptly named Leipzig Writers – tell you more about the event itself, which is called Finding Home… I particularly like his employing the term “glocal,” for obvious reasons:
“In this increasingly glocal world, a sense of home becomes more of a challenge, and a path of discovery. This passage may be for some geographical, where as for others more emotional, spiritual. In a time where the notion of nation and rights is more and more at the fore, this literary concert will pursue what it means for those in flux, and those wishing to settle. “Home can never be expressed, Till the soul has found its rest. Eine literarisches Veranstaltung auf Englisch und Deutsch. Come join us!”
