I highly recommend you taking part of your Labor Day weekend to visit Spinnerei in Plagwitz, the big old textile mill that has been turned into the most famous set of art galleries in Leipzig. It’s the 10th anniversary of the galleries’ spring open house or “go around” (“Rundgang”); so expect some extra special – and hip(ster) and crazy – events, besides the various new exhibits opening then. The Spinnerei galleries will be open this Friday (May 1) and Saturday (May 2) from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Entry is free. For an idea of what will be going on there, visit the Rundgang event Web site or Facebook page.
