Rolling Stones to give free concert in Leipzig

After bringing more than one million people to Copacabana Beach some years ago and recently hundreds of thousands of fans to the streets of Havana with free concerts, the legendary band Rolling Stones decided to bring their act to Leipzig.

The free concert will take place at Clara Zetkin Park on June 21st, 2016 – the first day of summer. Entrance is first-come, first-served.

The way The Leipzig Glocal found out about this was completely accidental. While on holiday, a regular guest writer for us attended the concert in Havana and happened to meet the band’s PR manager. The guest writer told the PR manager that she lives in Leipzig, and the PR manager revealed that free Rolling Stones concerts were being planned in former socialist countries across the world. One of the locations would be Leipzig, but the news hadn’t been broken yet. The guest writer leaked it to The Leipzig Glocal.

We’ll give you more information as it becomes available. For now, all we can do is wait anxiously and celebrate in advance!
