FUNkyFRIdayz: UPROOT!

/

I was extremely hesitant when I found this mix by Pablo Gunzales online. I thought to myself, “Pablo finally found a way to fit 3 hours of his life into a mix.” Having worked with Pablo Gunzales before at Polysick Parties where we bring the dance floor to life with a compilation of vintage and future Afro sounds, I already knew what to expect from Pablo musically. I must say I was horribly mistaken because Pablo brings a very fruitful, variety filled, diversified mix. Magically, I drifted to all the beautiful places in the world. The Caribbean, beautiful African beaches and straight back to Cuba somewhere.in a cafe where big men smoke cigars. I almost feel like flying to Brazil to enjoy the vibes he gives me in this mix. The mix is segmented quite perfectly as the change from one genre to another is easy and fluid so you dont forget which part of the world he is taking you to.

What a gem!

Instead of getting Fernweh, which this mix will definitely give you, I will check out his work live as he brings one of greatest Tropical Bass DJs from New York.

Uproot Andy, originally from Canada, was quickly influenced by the beats of the streets of New York’s Mexican and Puerto Rican community. He adds his own flavour to create music that will make you dance around like your were caught by that madness again. In closing: Pablo Gunzales, Uproot Andy, Washa Umkhukhu will bring some much needed heat at the Elipamanoke tomorrow and I will be there to witness it!
