As promised in our post asking for donations, we are delivering a new platform today. It’s called Leipglo Helpboard (covid.leipglo.com) and it means to connect the Leipzig-area community in fighting back against the hardships of Covid-19 times. Our 4-person management team – above all our new developer, Jorge Serrano – has been working tirelessly over the past days to launch this interactive database in English, the language shared by most of our audience.
Its goal is to aggregate offers and calls for help from neighbors, listings of services and apparel from small businesses and individuals, tips and resources, and alternative cultural happenings during the crisis.
The platform/database has drawn from your contributions (monetary or written) to our Covid-19 initiative and depends on you to succeed.
We have begun populating the easy-to-use Leipglo Helpboard with our latest articles on coronavirus resources, tips and cultural pasttimes. We have also already entered a few community listings that were sent to us. However, we need you, as a local community member, to 1) register (via your Facebook account or by creating a new profile) and 2) start posting all the confirmed, relevant information and offers or requests you have under the following categories:
- Health
- Culture
- Education
- Job
- Entertainment
- Volunteering
- Sell
- Buy
- Giveaway
- Food/Drink
- Delivery
Of course, we will refine the categories as we go along and work out any usability issues that come up. The Leipglo Helpboard is a living, breathing platform that is imperfect. It will improve and evolve with your help. So it is very important that 3) you tell us of any issues, questions or suggestions you might have (contact@leipglo.com).
So please come in, have a look around, give it a try and some love and, hopefully, content as well! We’ve tried to make it pretty straightforward and attractive, but would appreciate hearing from you on how to make it nicer.
