#LeckerLeipzig: Lynda’s Best Brownies

It’s this time of year I think of my mother. She was so glamorous. I always  wanted to be as pretty as she was. I remember she won Miss Dairy Queen when she was a teen. How amazing is that? God! I miss Dairy Queen! I miss her!

She loved Christmas. Her house was decorated top to bottom. I’m totally serious. Even the bathroom was covered. She had made everything herself throughout the year. Maybe that’s where my creativity comes from. The other thing she loved was cookbooks. When she died, I only saved a few. One day a couple of years ago, I was feeling nostalgic and started looking through one. I wanted to make some brownies because I hadn’t found any I really liked in Germany. I needed a serious chocolate fix. As I turned the page, I saw written there “best brownies”. It’s the only example of my mother’s handwriting I have. After that I made them for people at Christmas. So, here’s my gift to you. Make them yourself.

It’s very important they aren’t overdone. They will look like they aren’t cooked. They aren’t cake. I’d advise try them out a couple of times in your oven to get it right. They should be moist and gooey.

Enjoy! And toast my Mother for giving us the best gift ever!
