In good company: PR to patient support

//

In just 4 very short days, the Leipzig Glocal Job Fair at WERK 2 will bring together more than 20 companies seeking internationally-minded candidates in Leipzig. We thought it important for you to get more insight into who these diverse exhibitors are, and what they look for in job applicants, ahead of the event.

To that end, we asked them questions about their particular company culture, their expectations as employers, and how they help their staff balance their work-life commitments.

Today we present you the following job fair exhibitors: the patient support startup DIPAT Die Patientenverfügung, which are looking for front-end developers; the European gas trading platform PRISMA European Capacity Platform; Get a MINT, an innovative HR firm for STEM graduates and professionals; and the dynamic PR company MyNEWSdesk, which are looking for motivated sales developers.

Meet DIPAT

What is your company about?

DIPAT is the innovation leader in the automated creation of living wills and medical precautionary advice. Medically precise formulations, regular updates and immediate availability in an emergency ensure effectiveness: Once stored online, a DIPAT living will is ready for retrieval by doctors at any time.

The patient always carries the individual retrieval code with him or her on his or her insurance card. Experts, media, politicians, and a constantly growing number of satisfied users share our enthusiasm.

What is your company culture like?

At DIPAT, we are a high-performing, professional and committed team. Regular exchange among each other is our priority: both on a professional level in well-structured meeting loops as well as personally in team events, retrospectives or joint lunch breaks. Respect for the performance of others and collegiality, trust and freedom in the way we work together are particularly important to us.

Let’s go beyond the CV. What kind of candidate fits your company culture?

We’re looking for creative and responsible people who think for themselves, are open to new challenges, love the fast pace of a startup, and are not afraid of daily challenges.

Let’s say that a candidate does not have a degree or work experience directly related to your company’s services. Would you still consider hiring them?

We surely would! Without career changers and different professional backgrounds, our team would not be as great as it is. We are happy to welcome employees with and without professional experience, career changers, young professionals, as well as experienced people from all areas!

Work-life balance. How does your company accommodate professional development of your employees and their personal lives?

Our employees have the freedom to shape their working environment. Our team is currently testing a 35-hour workweek – with a full salary! We work together on concepts for structuring and organizing our work in such a way that we can do more with less effort.

As a result, there is enough time for all personal and private needs without losing productivity and performance. We also want to shape the way people work in the future – and are on the mission with the whole team.

Meet PRISMA European Capacity Platform

What is your company about?

PRISMA is the major marketplace in Europe for booking and trading gas capacity. We facilitate European gas market integration by operating the leading gas capacity management platform.

We are an international team working for a common goal: making fair markets happen. We are a driving force in establishing a fair, transparent and integrated European energy market. Our success is nurtured by a simple drive – we want to get things done in the best way possible.

What is your company culture like?

No innovation springs from individuals. It takes a united team pulling the right strings to move something big. We are a smart and committed team driven by the belief that we can enable a fair gas market through innovation.

Each of us brings a unique perspective and skill set that helps us serve our users and markets. With our team, we have a network of passionate and dedicated professionals from all over the world who trust, respect and collaborate with each other to bring PRISMA’s vision to life.

Let’s go beyond the CV. What kind of candidate fits your company culture?

We don’t look for first-person shooters, but for people who are enthusiastic, passionate and committed to the team and the goal. We appreciate working with people who always display professionalism, courtesy and a sense of humor, even when under pressure.

Let’s say that a candidate does not have a degree or work experience directly related to your company’s services. Would you still consider hiring them?

We count on the attitude and capabilities that a person brings to our team rather than where these skills have been gained.

Work-life balance. How does your company accommodate professional development of your employees and their personal lives?

Working at PRISMA provides plenty of room for personal growth. We expect every team member to drive for professional development, and we provide tailored support for everyone to do so.

We believe it is more important that things get done than having a strict set of rules. That also means we will always find ways for meeting individual private circumstances.

Meet Get a MINT

What is your company about?

Get a MINT is a recruitment agency for startups and companies that are just starting out in the field of MINT (STEM in English). Based in Leipzig, we offer our candidates support with setting up their CVs and preparing them for job interviews – free of charge.

We gained a lot of experience in the past while managing the HR departments at IT companies in Leipzig and hiring dozens of people. We have established a wide network of various IT companies in and around Leipzig that are ready to start working with candidates.

What is your company culture like?

We are working with small and young companies that understand company culture as a crucial success factor in hiring and developing people. The majority of companies are very open minded, also towards today’s working methods (e.g. remote work, home office). Therefore, companies rely on their employees’ self-motivation and honesty. They’re developing their talents and are happy to see them grow with their business.

Let’s go beyond the CV. What kind of candidate fits your company culture?

Inspirational and innovative people are the drivers of our clients’ businesses. Motivated candidates who are willing to bring in new ideas and experiences, who drive tasks to completion and take ownership of topics. Flexibility is a MUST, as our candidates work in highly dynamic and evolving environments.

Our candidates are open minded, tolerant, and quality-oriented. They are ready to run through a continuous innovation process. This is the perfect possibility to enhance one’s current strengths or develop new ones.

Let’s say that a candidate does not have a degree or work experience directly related to your company’s services. Would you still consider hiring them?

No degree or experience can replace motivation. That’s the reason why our clients are open for less-experienced people or career changers who have the strong will to contribute to something great.

Work-life balance. How does your company accommodate professional development of your employees and their personal lives?

Flexible working hours, remote / home office options are just the basis for a free and self-determined working environment. Our clients support their employees’ personal development by…

  • scope of action;
  • reduced workload due to better distribution of tasks within a team;
  • load change due to job rotation;
  • part-time work, which can be implemented in a wide variety of forms;
  • job sharing;
  • teleworking (video and telephone conferences);
  • actively designed breaks (e.g. fitness offers, team lunch).

Meet MyNEWSdesk

What is your company about?

MyNEWSdesk offers an all-In-one software to modern PR professionals – a solution where they can manage their complete digital PR workflow. We want to enable communicators out there to release the full power of their stories and, ideally, create a world where no story goes untold or unheard.

What is your company culture like?

Welcome to a caring, passionate as well as open and inclusive culture! A smile, a kind gesture, an encouraging remark – these are not small things to us, they are about respecting and supporting each other. Furthermore, it is important that everyone knows she or he plays a vital part in our success and that every accomplishment counts. We celebrate those successes together, the small and the big ones.

And in a fast-changing tech environment, we need to stay on top of all the changes. This can only be achieved with people who truly believe in our product and are passionate about our vision. That is why we encourage everyone to constantly challenge the status quo, give feedback, listen, learn, and adapt in order to grow. MyNEWSdesk is a place where one’s voice really matters!

Let’s go beyond the CV. What kind of candidate fits your company culture?

We are facing strong growth, where change happens really fast. We need people who want to play an essential part in shaping and scaling our product and business. For that, we need people who dare to try new things, and who dare to fail, people who are adaptable, open-minded and who care – one of our four core values!

Let’s say that a candidate does not have a degree or work experience directly related to your company’s services. Would you still consider hiring them?

We believe in diversity! Nowadays, we try to hire people from a holistic point of view rather than with the expectation of industry-related experience – we simply can’t find them. And academic degrees often do not tell whether a person brings the right mindset and the right competence for a role at MyNEWSdesk. Today, we are looking at candidates with a “wide-angle lens” – at people’s overall work experiences, their talents and what motivates them to do a good job.

Work-life balance. How does your company accommodate professional development of your employees and their personal lives?

We have a high interest in our employee’s constant professional development – from feedback as a basic learning tool, regular co-learning sessions, weekly information round-ups (as deep dives or quick bites) to full-day workshops and training sessions. That is the formal L&D part. The informal part is that employees at MyNEWSdesk can (and should!) try out new things, step out of their comfort zone and grow with their own set new challenges.

And naturally, as a Swedish company, we put a high focus on health and well-being too! We support our employees’ sports activities financially, and every employee can use one work hour per week to do sports. We offer office yoga sessions and even have a health ambassador in our team! Twice a week, we have team lunches and employees have free-flow of fruits at work. Flextime work schemes and home office arrangements accommodate employees needing more flexibility at some point.
